The paintings below were done by homeschooling students on "paint cards". These are 8 1/2 x 11 card stock paper with the illustrations already printed on them. The purpose of these exercises is to teach the students the academics of painting & color theory. Paint cards are provided with some of our more comprehensive curriculum such as: I Can Do All Things, Feed My Sheep, God & The History of Art, and The Book of Many Colors. With our programs we try to separate painting from drawing so the beginning student does not have the concerns of setting up his/her composition thus keeping their focus on the mixing of colors, how to use a palette, holding a brush, painting with control, and learning color theory. Students become acquainted with the three primary colors plus white and, through the use of only these colors, should learn how to mix and create every color under the rainbow.
